As if Bill 13 weren’t unjust enough, there’s another piece of misguided Liberal legislation called Bill 33 that has passed second reading and will soon probably become law in Ontario. Bill 33 has, for the most part, gone under the radar because of all the public criticism of Bill 13. We must say public attention since most of the mainstream media have declared a blackout in their coverage. The Liberals are politically doing all they can to pass both Bills 13 and 33. The legislation proposed in Bill 33, known as Toby’s Act, is to provide additional legal backing for the right to be free from discrimination and harassment based on "gender identity" and "gender expression". Bill 33 covers the workplace while Bill 13 will do the same thing in schools. The deceptive end game is the same: Legally force Ontarians to accept and try to normalize all the socially constructed "sexual orientations".
Bill 33 is designed to further liberalize the Ontario Human Rights Code. There's a very good chance you never heard of these major changes to the Ontario Human Rights Code being considered through this new legislation. With this in mind, shouldn't we, in a democracy, be asking this question: Why does our government not consult with its citizens when considering the passage of a law that will have huge social and moral repercussions for both present and future generations?
Tabled by NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo, Bill 33 will amend the Ontario Human Rights Code. There are a number of changes proposed, but essentially it’s about inserting the words "gender identity" and "gender expression" wherever the term sexual orientation currently appears in the document. In total, there are seven Sections and Subsections of the Bill where this new language will be added. In Subsection 7 (1, 2) of the Bill, the revised version will add the words “because of sex” and the new wording will state, “because of sex, gender identity or gender expression”.
The terms "gender identity" and "gender expression" are fluid and thus difficult to clearly define. However, should anyone question their definition you're likely to be labelled as being a bigot and intolerant. Even worse you may be accused of being "homophobic", a word with no clinical or legal meaning, but which serves to arrest open discussion of the topic. Thus, Ontario citizens are being legislated into accepting the decoupling of human sexuality from biology. Socially constructed sexual orientations will trump natural law and religious beliefs.
Bill 33 proposes to drastically change the Ontario Rights Code by specifying that every person has the right to "equal treatment" without discrimination based on gender identity or gender expression. This "equal treatment" will apply in Ontario in the following areas: services, accommodation, contracting, employment and membership in a trade union or a self-governing profession. Currently the Standing Committee on Social Policy is holding hearings, but the bill is expected to pass third reading and if the governing Liberals have their way it will become law in Ontario.
Bill 33 and Bill 13 are designed to legally force all citizens to accept sexual orientations and gender identity. However, if every citizen has the right to "equal treatment" than why does Bill 33 give preferential treatment to one group by referring to gender identity and gender expression? We can only assume that if we say every person is equal before the law, then we mean every person has a right to equal treatment. Otherwise Orwell's fictional Animal Farm has now become the new reality in Ontario Farm with all the doublespeak and the "some are more equal than others" proposed legislation.
Let's be clear: Bill 33 is more deceptive legislation claiming to be about human rights when in fact it will put the arm of the law against Christians and every cultural group that, if they obey the law, must reject their own teaching about human sexuality, the family and parental rights. Make no mistake about it. Bill 33 will make religious beliefs about these all important issues, illegal. Bill 33, along with Bill 13, is another attack on religious and multicultural freedom.
A good and just law should protect parental rights, religious liberty and freedom of conscience. Bill 33 does none of that. Bill 13 does none of that. Without these protections, Ontario and Canada will never be great places to live and raise children because true human liberty and religious freedom, the building blocks of the Common Good, have been made illegal. God help us if this happens.
Those promoting the culture of death in all its guises love to use as you say Lou deceptive language that means the complete opposite of what it says it does. With Bill 13 the target is to eventually elliminate Catholic education in the Province of Ontario the way they have in the other provinces. After they elliminate Catholic education they are going to go after the Catholic Church and faith. Remember what scripture says on this point, "not even the gates of hell will prevail against the church."
ReplyDeleteJust think there are more than 1.9 million Catholics in the City of Toronto and a couple of million more in the GTA. The Liberal McGuinty Government should have a referendum on the issue, not just ram it through the legislature the way a tyranny would operate.
Right now the powers of darkness and the culture of death seem to be winning all the battles. They seem to own and control everything. But do not despair brothers and sisters in Christ for the day of Lord will come like a theif in the night. The day and the hour not even Jesus or the angels know. Only God the Father knows the day and the hour of the comming of Jesus Christ our one True Lord God and Saviour. That day is sooner than anyone thinks.
I urge each of you reading this blog to pray the rosary every day. Especially pray for the children of this province and across Canada.
Here's an email I received and I publish with permission. Thank you, Clinton.
ReplyDeleteDear Lou,
Thanks for this. Clearly, Satan attacks every aspect of the human person: male and female, mother and father, husband and wife, pre-born and young children, etc. to deconstruct, in every way, Man as a being created in the image of God. There is a well-known book by C. S. Lewis that bears a striking title: "The Abolition of Man". How appropriate for our times, especially in the Western World.
I agree with you that we Christians need to do all we can on the political and social level to prevent complete moral and societal breakdown, but I know that, at it's root, it's a spiritual battle and we have to take that dimension more and more seriously in preparing ourselves for what is to come. Since these Bills attack everything that the Holy Family stands for and exemplifies, we can be sure that Satan is using these blinded politicians to turn God's creation inside-out and upside-down. I believe the Rosary is a powerful spiritual weapon that can help exorcise these demons and that can also strengthen us for the temporal and spiritual battle ahead.
Thank you for fighting the good fight!
Yours in Christ and the Holy Family,
Clinton

ReplyDeleteDear Editor,
All Ontarians should be alarmed at this autocratic imposition of the McGuinty Liberals on schools. As the statistics from the Toronto District School Board show, gay bullying is not even on the bulling radar screen. So it is McGuinty's ideology that is on display!
The homosexual lifestyle is very dangerous: higher suicide rates, higher rates of Sexually Transmitted Infections/Diseases (STIs/STDs). What programs has McGuinty got in place to address these extremely serious matters? If "none", then clearly McGuinty and his cronies are on the wrong track.

Saying that this Bill will make the religious freedom unlawfull is just as unlawfull as religion denying sex identity or discriminating against minorities. We welcome this Bill and suggest Religion keep her paws off legislation. This is a secular country and therefore should not be influenced by Religious expressions. There were times when it was and then it lead to inquisition. So folks let's prise this cultural diversity and minority's rights therein. Amen!
ReplyDeleteAs a Christian I am appalled and perplexed by the attitudes presented by sites like this.
ReplyDeleteWillfull ignorance, bigotry, and prejudice all in the name of Christ??
This sort of attitude demonstrates why Bill 13 and Bill 33 are needed.
To protect the vulnerable from those that should be doing the protecting.
Dear Rita,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if you are referring to the comments section or the content of this site. If it's the about the postings, I regret that you're "appalled and perplexed by the attitudes presented by sites like this." Have you read Bill 13 and 33? I believe there's enough "ignorance, bigotry and prejudice" against Christians and parents that can be found in the legislation. I wish you gave concrete examples of your claim instead of general accusations. You have a choice not to visit this site, but when a law is passed in the province it applies to all citizens and if it discriminates against Christians and other cultural groups, one ought to have the right and the freedom to say so. I respect you view, but I also believe there should be room for the views of others. For many, parts of Bill 13 excludes their view of the person, of sexuality and of family. Thank you for writing.
Lou keep up the good work you do on Every Day For Life Canada. Thank you for keeping us informed on Bill 13 and pro-life issues. The people of Ontario and across Canada deserve to hear the truth. As St. Paul says, "Fight the good fight." God bless you and your family.
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is that transsexuals were born that way. God made us this way. Think not? Our brains have been PROVEN to be nearly identical to women's brains. Furthermore, what about intersex people? They are out there and you can't deny it; they were definately born that way. God knit us together in our mothers wombs, a verse says that. So how can it be said that things never happen in the womb? They sure do. By the way, if I had a choice I would choose NOT to be transexual; it isn't something I wanted nor would I wish on anyone.
ReplyDeleteSo I think that bill 33 is a good thing, not bad. You don't like it because you are in denial that things can happen in the womb like a male body being made but estrogen going into the brain.
Every birth is not perfect there are all sorts of birth defects that one can get, all with a perfectly healthy, normal mother.
